[Updated 12/23 and 1/16, to include new members of the Committee]
Senate Select Committee on Intelligence (https://www.intelligence.senate.gov) approves/rejects the nomination for Director of National Intelligence (Budget: $70 billion, 18 agencies). Trump has nominated Tulsi Gabbard. Like Hegseth, she too has not run anything more complicated than a McDonald’s French fry station. She has however played the useful idiot to Putin’s talking points, repeating same as if they were her own insights.
Seems like a risky bet for the person who would have access to every spy the US has access to globally. Seems like a president intent on locking in support from other dictators would use such a list to accomplish such “friendships”. Maybe that’s paranoid. Why risk it? Is there no one qualified for the position in the entire GOP universe?
Coordinating with Justice, Homeland, and Defense (a Squad, of all things), in aligning the government agencies which possess the power of state coercion would be made much easier with the DNI on board. Again, why risk it?
